Job description Looking for qualified Spanish/ESL language instructors who can teach 20 hours per week between our center and other schools in the Portland area. Must be comfortable instructing adult learners in group classes as well as one-on-one (both adults and children). Flexible schedule, with preference during weekday evenings (2:00pm-7:00pm). Preferred Qualifications:
Teachers must be bilingual (Spanish/English) and have prior ESL teaching/tutoring experience. Being a native English-speaker is a plus, but not a requirement.
Familiarity with Zoom, Google Drive, etc. Basic computer literacy to aid in teaching of virtual classes.
Experience with community outreach, office administration, and program coordination (preferred, not required)
Responsabilities:
Teach Spanish classes to groups of 6-8 students, and one-on-one private lessons for adults and children.
Be available to teach in-person classes at our office and online classes.
Keep record of student attendance and enrollment, as well as lessons executed
It is necessary that the teacher has a strong understanding of English grammar -- from basic to advanced concepts. These lessons usually incorporate vocabulary focus areas, but are largely grammar-based.
Access to personal vehicle for travel to on-site classes (trave time between teaching sites is paid)(required)
Correspondence with students (via email and phone).
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Compensation:
$20/hour
20 hours per week.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
